US of Pickleball: CRBN Unity

This work is a tribute to pickleball as a unifying force, conveyed through the iconic symbolism of the American flag.
- Stripes: Uniform identical rackets, represent equality among players, reinforcing the notion that every participant shares a common experience and value set.
- Stars: States of the union are symbolized by identical pickleballs, underscoring the idea that no state or player, stands alone or above all. Together, players and communities are part of a larger collective.

Back side: Painted flag.

This diptych, painted on hardboard with a finished reverse side, marks an evolution from an earlier piece. In this iteration, I incorporated full pickleballs and paddles to deepen the visual and conceptual impact.

Stripes: the rackets, each distinct in style and design, embody the rich diversity of pickleball enthusiasts. From competitive motifs to playful imagery like dogs, watermelons and desert landscapes they reflect the wide spectrum of personalities and expressions that make the pickleball community vibrant and welcoming.
- Stars: States of the Union are represented by "half balls," of varying size and each painted in distinct shades of blue. Positioned beneath the stars, these elements stand distinct yet interconnected, emphasizing both the uniqueness of each state and the diverse players who bring the sport to life.

Through this work, unity is portrayed as both resilient and essential, encouraging reflection on its deeper significance. At a time when togetherness feels more urgent than ever, US of PB: Unity celebrates, honors, and inspires a stronger commitment to community and connection.
